Meet Our Staff

Marlena Pique , LICSW  is only available for telehealth services and specializes in children, teens, couples, and families. She is particularly skilled at helping families break through problems in communication and relationships. She helps her clients identify emotional barriers to effective communication and provides down-to-earth practical tools that can be implemented quickly. Her solutions-focused approach enables her clients to experience rapid change.

Mrs. Pique's expertise is in working with children and teens and the problems and conditions that cause the greatest disruption towards healthy adult development.  These conditions include ADHD, Oppositional/Defiant Disorder, cutting behaviors, social isolation, and adolescent depression and anxiety. She has also worked extensively with blended family difficulties, adoptions, couples, and women’s issues. Mrs. Pique recognizes that effective resolution of childhood or teenage challenges typically require involvement and support of the parents and she is quick to provide education or skills building to help parents be part of the solution.

Mrs. Pique is a native of Columbia, Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland. She is fluent in Spanish. Mrs. Pique acquired her Masters of Social Work in 1994 and worked for Bethany Christian Services of Maryland as a family counselor. From 1997 to 2002, she worked for Catholic Charities of Atlanta as a child and family therapist. More recently, Mrs. Pique worked at Brooklane Behavioral Health in Hagerstown, MD.

Marlena grew up in Presbyterian (USA) church.  She was a member of Chapelgate Presbyterian Church (PCA) for several years in college and  then attended Living Waters Fellowship (charismatic) prior to joining the Catholic Church in 1997.  She is a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Martinsburg and considers herself an ecumenical evangelical Catholic Christian. She enjoys serving the Latino community with counseling services. Marlena resides in Martinsburg, WV with her husband Bruce and their four children.

Dr. Rachel Burke (previously Dr. Weiman) is a Clinical Psychologist who specializes in individual, family, and child therapy. Dr. Burke earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in DC, and continued her clinical training at Johns Hopkins and Kennedy Krieger Institute. Prior to that, she earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Burke uses an integrative framework to maximize her client’s outcomes and progress. She creates a safe and strong alliance with her clients so that problems are quickly identified and solutions can be effectively implemented. Often therapy includes helping clients learn skills that were previously underdeveloped or never learned and practiced (such as anger management, communication between couples or between parent and child, social skills, anxiety-reduction strategies, parenting strategies). Dr. Burke also provides supportive therapy for those going through crises or experiencing difficult stages in life. She provides her clients with a positive environment in which they enjoy feeling empowered to safely explore new and healthy ways of producing desired change in their lives.

Dr. Jonathan M. Hartiens is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. He has over 20 years of experience and developed an expertise in the treatment of Depression, Anxiety, and Addictions. In addition to bein g a prominent therapist, he is frequently invited to speak at national conferences and to general audiences on addiction treatment. Besides helping those who suffer with chemical addictions, he is also a well known therapist for treating sexual addictions.  He was on the medical staff at the VAMC Medical Center, Martinsburg, from 2001 to 2011 where he worked for 9 years at the Center for Addiction Treatment; three of those years as its Director. He's authored and been awarded several grants to expand the range of addiction treatment into rural areas.

Dr. Hartiens served as a Navy Psychologist from 1994 to 2001. He completed his doctoral internship at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He also served at Naval Hospital Groton, CT and at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily.

Dr. Hartiens frequently speaks at churches where he provides practical insights and applications from Scripture. He is sought out to lead marriage retreats and blends a unique delivery of humor, warmth, and insights on the day to day stressors which can so easily drain today's marriages.

Dr. Hartiens is an interactive therapist who helps clients identify the specifics of the problem and the barriers to their solutions. His therapeutic approach is to provide compassion, understanding, and observations on destructive or unhealthy patterns of behavior. Where appropriate, Scriptural references are used as an encouragement to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. He integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.  Homework is routine and challenging. Clients typically start to see results within the first or second session.

Timothy Teague, Ph.D. has been a licensed professional counselor since 1983, and has strengthened thousands of marriages and families through counseling and seminars with a full-time practice since 1985.  He has served two churches in Northern Virginia in the area of counseling and family ministry utilizing biblical truth. He enjoys working with couples, adults, teens, and children above the age of 5. His expertise includes marriage preparation, strengthening marriages and families, and helping individuals discover more peace and meaning in their lives as they overcome anxiety and stress, and find direction and purpose. Common issues in counseling include communication, conflict resolution, parenting, finances, sexual intimacy, substance abuse, and emotional and physical affairs. In working with couples, the goal is to identify expectations, determine what is realistic and work to help the couple meet each other's needs.

Dr. Teague grew up in Florida and Alabama, completed his graduate work in Texas, and came to Northern Virginia over 30 years ago. He and his wife, Beverly, have been married 42 years. They enjoy their horses and love the sunrises and sunsets on their horse farm. His hobbies are running and tennis. One of the recent joys in life is his grandchildren.

Candace Wilson, Office Manager

Candace is the Office Manager for Christian Psychological Services.  She has 10 years of experience in office management, billing, and coding.  Candace has previous experience in Internal and Family Medicine, OBGYN, ENT, and Endocrinology.  Candace received her Associates of Applied Science in 2007 from Kaplan University in Hagerstown, MD. She is also a Medical Assistant and Certified Professional Coder. Candace is a lifelong resident of Jefferson County, WV. She currently resides in Kearneysville with her husband, Matt, and their 3 children. She attends Calvary United Methodist Church in Martinsburg where she is involved with youth ministry. Candace is also a cheer coach at Washington High School.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Donna Jacques, Office Assistant

Originally from Georgia, Donna has been a resident of West Virginia since 2004. She has more than 15 years of Customer Service experience and received her Administrative Certification from Ashworth College, Norcross, Georgia, November 2019. She currently resides in Martinsburg with her husband, Randall, and has 2 adult children. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, and crocheting. She is a member of Oakland Community Church, Charles Town, West Virginia.
